ABOUT THE BOOK

“The Trials of Brother Judas” by Francis A. Ogbe is a compelling and thought-provoking play that masterfully delves into themes of betrayal, morality, and the intricacies of faith, viewed through the lens of contemporary Christian youth. Set within the vibrant backdrop of a church compound, the narrative revolves around a group of spirited final-year university students passionately dedicated to evangelism. The play engages audiences in a profound dialogue about the infamous figure of Judas Iscariot, drawing striking parallels between his actions and the moral dilemmas faced by modern believers. What sets “The Trials of Brother Judas” apart is its bold relevance to Nigeria’s socio-political landscape. Through its unflinching exploration of corruption, materialism, religious hypocrisy, and public disillusionment, the play holds a mirror to the nation’s challenges while calling for integrity and accountability. It inspires audiences to critically reflect on their own values and the actions of their leaders, sparking meaningful conversations about the future of Nigeria. Francis Ogbe’s work is not just a play but a catalyst for change, blending gripping drama with a powerful message that challenges both hearts and minds.
